The Angel Said to the Shepherds for flute ensemble

The angel’s announcement to the shepherds that the Christ Child has been born is expressed in this Motet, a style that was prevalent in sacred compositions throughout the Medieval and Renaissance eras. This double quartet arrangement is most effectively performed antiphonally and can be done with all C flutes or a combination that includes alto, bass, and contrabass flutes as desired.
